SMC Vortex Engine Clutches have a unique spring that is twisted to store energy reminiscent of a whirlpool or a Vortex.  This is the only really new clutch idea in 25 years and it puts this clutch in a class by itself.  

Vortex springs are connected to the weights, not the pressure plate!
